Growing up, my father suffered from mental illness combined with substance abuse and at some point, it was too much to bear. He committed suicide when I was 7 years old. My mother worked tirelessly to pay the bills and get an education to support our family. Music became a place for me to enjoy peace and creativity that has stuck with me through my entire life.
